National ITS Architecture. Ron is one of the founding fathers of the National ITS Architecture. Ron was the lead developer of many of the most-used parts of the National ITS Architecture including the physical architecture and the market packages. Ron continues to play a central role in National ITS Architecture maintenance, outreach, and training activities.

Regional ITS Architectures. Ron has participated in the development of more than 30 regional ITS architectures. Ron was the editor-in-chief and a primary author for the Regional ITS Architecture Guidance Document. Ron is also the chief software engineer for the Turbo Architecture software. Ron has facilitated in more than 50 regional ITS architecture-related workshops, including the Architecture Use and Maintenance workshops currently provided by US DOT.
